The one-year (12-month) Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship Program is designed as a comprehensive educational and clinical training program to provide graduates the clinical expertise, scholarly experience, team leadership skills, and supervisory proficiency expected of consultants and leaders in the field of pediatric cardiac anesthesiology. The main operating room area at Riley Hospital consists of a three-pod pre/post anesthesia area; 16 large, modern operating rooms with modern technology; two Interventional Radiology suites; and two Cardiac Cath Lab suites. As a future consultant in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology, the advanced fellow will be provided with one dedicated day every week for academic pursuits. The Heart Institute at CHLA cares for approximately 8,000 children annually. Fellows will spend one to two months in the CTICU, which can be divided into weekly interments throughout the year. Pediatric CRNA Projects and Initiatives The Johns Hopkins pediatric CRNAs are an integral component of the anesthesia care team that deliver expert care to the world’s most complex pediatric population.
